Opportunities From: VolunteerICT

Volunteers will answer telephones, provide callers with information about agency programs documentation and eligibility requirements for the Community Food Ministry program. Computer knowledge helpful but not mandatory.

Carry out commodity boxes for clients on Commodity Supplemental Food Program distribution days. Must be able to lift 30 pound boxes. Three-hour shifts in the morning or afternoon. Closed-toe shoes are required.

Office activities include stuffing envelopes, labeling, sealing, folding, putting together packets, answering phones, placing calls and distributing brochures.

Help with special events including Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes and Tour de Cure.

Mow lots in various locations throughout Wichita City Limits. Use your own mower (rider suggested, but not required) and have ability to transport mower between sites. Habitat will reimburse gas costs for the mower.

Help with participant registration at a variety of special events, golf tournaments, music-thon and others.

Help by completing assorted clerical duties like filing, shredding, stuffing envelopes, folding newsletters, labeling, etc.

Help a child be successful in school by tutoring them during the school day or helping them with their homework after school. |

Share a talent or special interest with a group of children. This might be in the area of model rocketry, sports, recycling, photography or crafts. Approved curriculums are available. This is a once a week commitment for six weeks.

Meet with a child, usually during their lunch time, one time per week through the school year. Quality time during this one-on-one relationship will help students with difficulties at home and at school. Mentors offer friendship, guidance, and a positive perspective.

Volunteers needed to help with general office duties, data entry, copying, mailings, library help, hand out health fair information at booth, and yearly memory walks. Various positions available.
