A big part of an advocate's duty is to visit with the child at least once a month. The appointed volunteer will work with the child or children until they are placed in loving permanent homes and the case is closed. For many abused children, a CASA volunteer offers a needed constant adult presence in their lives. Most volunteer spend 5-10 hours a month volunteering. 30 hours of training will be provided, and background checks will be performed before being appointed.
