Who We Are

More than 80 years ago, we started as a small workshop and training school for the blind with just 12 employees. Today, we are a company of hundreds of individuals who are blind, low vision and typically sighted, all working together across the many branches of our organization. Envision is one of the largest employers of people who are blind or visually impaired in the country. In the US, 70% of people who experience low vision are unemployed and we’re on a mission to change that. We provide opportunities to build skills, confidence and independence through programs, rehabilitation, groundbreaking research and child development. And none of this is possible without the support from our partners and donors. 100% of funds we receive support Envision programs and services. Our amazing industry and corporate partners work with us to ensure that people who are blind or visually impaired have the same advantages as everyone else.

What We Do

Envision is a private, not-for-profit agency uniquely combining employment opportunities with rehabilitation services and public education. The mission of Envision is to improve the quality of life and provide inspiration for the blind and visually impaired through employment, outreach, rehabilitation, education and research. Envision is funded through the sale of products that we manufacture, rehabilitation fee service contracts, grants, and contribution from the community.
