The Emergency Winter Shelter operates two buildings (one for men and one for women) from November to March to provide care for those experiencing homelessness in our community during the coldest months of the year. These are the only no-barrier Emergency Winter Shelters in Sedgwick County and typically serve between 100-120 homeless men and women each night. Nurse's Station volunteers should be medical professionals, ideally a step above a CNA for client safety purposes. The Nurse's Station distributes only basic, over the counter, medical necessities to clients.
