Who We Are
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) began in 1980 with the vision of a future of “no more victims” of drunk and drugged driving. MADD’s mission is to end drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, support the victims of these violent crimes, and prevent underage drinking. Since our inception we’ve cut drunk driving deaths by 50 percent, saved more than 400,000 lives, and served over 900,000 victims of drunk and drugged driving. MADD offers a wide variety of services and programming across the nation; MADD’s services are victim focused and include emotional support, information and education, advocacy/awareness, resource referrals, and helping victims and survivors of drunk and drugged driving navigate the legal system at no charge. Our Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving is comprised of support for law enforcement and high visibility law enforcement efforts, ignition interlocks for all convicted drunk drivers, and advanced alcohol detection technology. Other MADD programming includes Victim Impact Panels, Court Monitoring, and vital community educational presentations with the goal of prevention not limited to MADD’s Power of Youth and Power of Parents.
What We Do
