Social Innovation Laboratory (SIL) is a nonprofit working alongside communities in Wichita to create meaningful, lasting change. We believe the best solutions come from the people closest to the challenges, and we’re committed to listening, learning, and building together. Our mission is to partner with communities to design and improve programs that truly meet people’s needs. We’re a small, collaborative team focused on strengthening opportunities for youth and families through connection, trust, and shared effort. At SIL, we’re not just running programs—we’re building relationships and creating space for communities to lead.

We bring people together to create and strengthen programs that support youth, families, and healthier communities. Through That Pop-Up Restaurant, we provide free meals for kids while creating welcoming spaces where families can gather and connect. Through Better Futures, we support young people in building communication, decision-making, and relationship skills that set them up for long-term success. We also work with community partners to improve programs—helping ensure they are effective, responsive, and grounded in real needs. Everything we do is hands-on, collaborative, and rooted in the belief that strong communities are built together.
