Prairie Fire Marathon

The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission is a non-profit 501(c)(6) organization. We’re proud of our Prairie Fire Marathon Wichita race series and are excited to see the event grow each year. Additionally, we are doing our best to create the best race experience possible for our participants. With our success we have been able to bring a lot to the City of Wichita. The event has brought neighbors, family, and friends together in a way that wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for our event. We have generated revenue for our local businesses, have given back to our local charities, and look forward to continuing to do so for our great city!

For more than 20 years, the Wichita Sports Commission (WSC) has worked to promote, acquire, and support a diversity of youth, amateur, and professional sports programs and events thereby enhancing the Wichita area economy and quality of life. We work to showcase the Wichita area as a Midwestern hub through the planning and promoting of sporting events or activities and have had an economic impact of over $544 million.
