Description

Harbor House provides outreach services and a safe, 24/7 shelter for survivors of domestic abuse.

Harbor House at Catholic Charities is more than a safe shelter for survivors of severe violence. Harbor House uses outreach advocacy services to guide survivors of abuse through the judicial, medical and DCF systems.  

The Hospitality and Resource Volunteers help maintain a welcoming, organized, and functional environment for clients. This role helps to sort donated items into their proper locations, clean and organize shelter storage rooms, prepare client resources, and assist with general organizational tasks throughout the shelter. 

Qualifications Include: Ability to stand for extended periods of time, crouch, bend, climb and carry at least 20 lbs is required for this position. A weekly volunteer commitment is appreciated.  

All volunteers in this role must pass background checks and complete VIRTUS training.
