Lights on the River is a free, family-friendly event that highlights Wichita's best natural asset each holiday season - the Arkansas River. The lantern launch is expected to draw 1,200+ attendees from Wichita and surrounding areas. The evening event will feature a variety of family-friendly activities and will conclude with a floating lantern launch and stunning fireworks display. Santa will be available for hearing wishes, and taking Christmas photos. A horse-drawn wagon will give rides, and transportation will be available to take folks to the Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting and back to the Boathouse. Along the river banks spectators will enjoy holiday music, food trucks, smore's, and warm beverages.
We need volunteers to help with set-up, to staff each of these activities during the event, and clean-up when we are done. We need you to help make this event a huge success again this year!
