Harbor House provides a safe, 24/7 shelter for survivors of domestic abuse and outreach services.
Child care volunteers watch children of adults in shelter while they attend life skills classes, apply for jobs and housing, and during case manager meetings. Child care volunteers may work with a group size of one to fifteen and children of all ages.
Volunteers in this position are required to pass a background check and take a 3 hour class called VIRTUS. VIRTUS teaches adults the signs of child abuse and neglect as well as the best practices Catholic Charities follows to protect youth and vulnerable adults in our ministries.
Times: Thursdays; 5:45 pm-7:15 pm
